What you get in the DOCX file

A DOCX is Microsoft Word's standard document format. When you convert a PDF with Dilraf PDF, the result is built from native Word elements so you can click in and type straight away:

    • Paragraphs and headings as real text, not floating text boxes.
    • Tables as real tables with rows and columns you can add to or delete.
    • Images placed where they were in the PDF.
    • Fonts, bold, italics and colours, plus bullet lists and links.

DOCX, DOC and PDF: what is the difference?

DOCX is the modern Word format used since Word 2007. It opens in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, LibreOffice and Apple Pages, and files are smaller and more reliable than the older DOC format.

PDF is built to look identical everywhere, which is exactly why it is hard to edit. Converting PDF to DOCX trades that fixed layout for the freedom to change the content.

How to convert PDF to DOCX

    1. Click Choose PDF above, or drag your file onto the box (up to 4 MB).
    2. Optionally open Options to convert only some pages, for example 1-3, 5.
    3. Press Convert to Word and wait a few seconds.
    4. Click Download DOCX and open it in Word, Google Docs or Pages.

Tips for the best PDF to DOCX result

    • Convert the original digital PDF if you have it. PDFs exported from Word or Google Docs convert best.
    • Not every font is installed on every computer. If Word substitutes a font, install the original or choose a similar one.
    • Check tables and images after conversion. Complex layouts sometimes need a quick tidy.
    • If you cannot select text in your PDF, it is a scan. Use our scanned PDF to Word converter for that.

PDF to DOCX: frequently asked questions

Is a DOCX file the same as a Word file?

Yes. DOCX is the file type Microsoft Word has used by default since 2007, so a DOCX opens in Word and in free alternatives such as Google Docs and LibreOffice.

Can I turn the DOCX back into a PDF?

Yes. In Word choose File, then Save As or Export, and pick PDF. That is the usual way to finish a document you converted and edited.

Will the layout be exactly the same as my PDF?

It will be very close for most documents, but PDF and Word handle layout differently, so complex pages can shift slightly. Always glance over the result before sending it on.

    Does it cost anything?

No. Dilraf PDF is free with no signup and no watermark.
